Freezing Rain - Icy Sidewalks

With high temps hovering just around freezing (see the NWS 24-hour climate data image) and some precipitation coming down, there was pretty nasty freezing rain out there last night and this morning. I just about slipped down the stairs in front of my house and ended up flat-out on the ground walking around a corner - the sidewalk was a sheet of smooth ice and I completely lost my footing. Fortunately my laptop wasn't hurt in the fall; unfortunately I landed right on my hip, which still aches a bit. I had to take baby steps the rest of the way to the bus stop...
