Posted By: NaomiG in Climate Action
We interviewed Barry McPhee, he is from the Montpelier energy team in Montpelier VT. We asked him how his work helped our environment and how it preserved our energy.
He graciously explained to us how the Montpelier energy team is helping the citizens of Montpelier conserve energy.
Q: What is Montpelier energy team about and how does it relate to energy use?
A: Montpelier energy team is a group of teams:
• an energy team that works at the co-op to have people buy energy audits at lower rates, that way they can save money.
• the bikes team which is also known as transportation team, that helps people get away from burning fuel such as using cars, and start riding bikes and walking, to save fuel and reduce emissions.
• The green building retro fit team which “weatherizes”houses, meaning we find ways that allow us to insolate peoples homes in a more environmentally safe way.
Barry McPhee is one of the many people in Vermont who is working to make this world a more green and clean place to live. And for that we are very thankful.
