Jessie Schmidt & her story

Jessie Schmidt
As the manager of Capital City Farmer’s Market, Jessie Schmidt kindly told us about her job and shared her thoughts on climate change.
Everyday is a very busy day for her because she organizes events and encourages people to eat more locally and to eat healthier too. She even encourages people to bring their own bags to reduce the amount of energy used in making and getting rid of every plastic and paper bag.
“Spring is coming earlier. A sudden shift will become more significant in a short amount of time,” Jessie stated, “we are seeing it in every season— severe storms, seasons arriving earlier and less subtle in our lifetime.” She also said that there are fundraisers at the farmer’s market for school projects.
