Summer Hike in October

I went to Addison with some friends to see the snow geese, followed by a short hike at Snake Mountain. It was like 4th of July weekend up there -- you couldn't go 10 feet without passing somebody on the trail. I can't remember it ever being so crowded. It was also very hot. My dog went for a swim in the pond at the top and I felt like joining him. The view from the top was as spectacular as ever, but it felt strange to see peak foliage so late in October.
